The Seminar

An understanding of judo’s principles helps coaches and athletes sift through the hype and pursue strategies that are robust, resilient and that make sense for their organization’s long term and short term growth and long term and short term athlete development. This program is designed to give participants a more than basic understanding of judo strategy and practices in today’s competitive environment which includes what happens on the mat but also away from it.

Who should enroll

Judo Professionals, athletes, coaches, dojo owners, parents, or otherwise, who want to develop a better understanding of judo strategy, processes, and best practices Those who are new to judo or who find themselves in a leadership role in the sport of judo without any formal education or formal judo education

What This Is Not:

This is not a weekend session of osoto gari or of how to do uchimata.  This is also not a technical seminar as far as judo techniques are concerned. Will we discuss judo? Of course, but not as you’ve ever discussed it or have seen it before.  This seminar is not a review of what you already know.  This seminar is not a session to complain about what has happened to the sport and art of judo or about the rules or the International Judo Federation

What This Seminar Is:

This seminar is the answer for winning more matches in the sport of judo.  It is the answer for the competitor who cannot seem to crack that next level of competition. This seminar is the answer for the coach who wants to know what to teach, how to teach it and how to properly disseminate and inculcate the right information to his students and clients to create the desired end result. For the coach to answer if he should adhere to the model of Deliberate Practice or that of Assertive Discipline. For a player to understand what “doing the reps” should actually mean and why working out alone sometimes does more harm than good.  This seminar is about THE RESEARCH in the field of expert performance and how this can and should be applied to your sport, your career and your profession.  This seminar is about winning — plain and simple.  This seminar is about formulating a strategy and implementing that right tactics at the right time to win. This seminar is about you getting more “juice” out of the “fruits” of your labor.  As a parent, coach and competitor, you are already working hard. This seminar is to provide you with the things that you do not know in order to work smarter than before.  Getting the right information and putting your energies in the right place and knowing what to do and why you are doing it is the most important thing that you can do for your career.
